Working beyond the fear

We all get scared sometimes. Even of things that are not actually there.

Think of the boogeyman under the bed we cringe from as a child. Or the way parents guard children because ‘something bad might happen.’

Whether a threat is imaginary or real, the resulting fear can push us to do many things. It can discourage us from speaking publicly and letting others know what we think. It can stop us from pursuing a path or opportunity that might transform our lives in extraordinary ways. It can provoke us to react in a variety of negative ways harmful to ourselves and others.

To quote Will Smith’s character in the movie After Earth, “Fear is not real. It is a product of thoughts you create… Do not misunderstand me. Danger is very real. But fear is a choice.”

Many of us fear choosing to change our current dysfunctional situation for the chance at a better one. Sure, we complain and moan daily about our ‘crummy job’ or ‘horrible boss’ but seldom initiate a GamePlan to forge a more fulfilling career path.

Think it was Einstein who quipped, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.”

He didn’t have to be an Einstein to come up with that one.

It’s pretty obvious. If you want something different, don’t just talk about it, be about it. A great start to an exciting and fulfilling career path begins with you signing up to take this free self-assessment that could literally change the direction of your life in minutes. It’s a quick and fun way of finding out what career path is ideal for your skills, personality and talents.

So jump in and lose the fear.

Because the only thing you should fear is not choosing the chance for a different result.
